The premise is that ten people are summoned to an empty mansion on a remote island. They all have a troubling past, and as time goes on, they are killed one by one. The mysterious host is not present, so the guests are left wondering who is doing this.
The Big Sleep by Raymond Chandler
Raymond Chandler’s novels are filled with interesting characters and a fast-paced wit that will bring a smile to your face. This story, which was brought to life by Humphrey Bogart in the movie adaptation, revolves around the blackmail of a wealthy general's daughter. The Postman Always Rings Twice by James M. Cain
Thought by many to be one of the most important crime novels of all-time. This book is fast-paced and uses explicit descriptions that caused it to be banned in some countries for a time. It revolves around Frank Chambers who falls for a married woman he is working for. The two decide that her marriage must end, but it isn’t that simple.
